Manchester United could be in line to make a shock move for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, according to a report.
The 23-year-old is out of the deal at the end of the season and is yet to agree on a new contract at the Anfield.
And according to Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, United are set to join Italian giants Juventus in the race to attract him away from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Can has made 25 appearances for Liverpool already this season and Jose Mourinho could be moved to bolster his available options while sending United’s fiercest rivals into outrage.
Juventus had been hoping to sign Can for free at the end of the season, however they may look to agree a fee in January before United can make their own move.
Elsewhere, United have also been associated with a move for former Arsenal midfielder Lassana Diarra.
The 32-year-old has played under Mourinho at both Chelsea, and Real Madrid, and United have already reportedly made an approach with his representatives over a possible reunion.
Diarra already has experience of the Premier League has featured for Arsenal, Chelsea and Portsmouth before making a £19million move to Real Madrid in 2009.
