Samuel Umtiti has claimed that he does not want to discuss his contract extension amid Jose Mourinho’s interest.
Since leaving Ligue 1 for Camp Nou back in July 2016, the France international has established himself in the centre of the Catalan club’s defence, but the centre-back is currently available for £52m due to the terms of his contract.
City rivals are allegedly also keen on Samuel Umtiti and although the 24-year-old says that he is “very happy” at the La Liga giants, the player has suggested that he has worries over his future.
The Express quotes Frenchman as saying: “My clause isn’t that high, everyone knows it. It’s something that concerns me, but I don’t particularly care about it right now.
“However, everything happens very quickly in the world we live in. All I can say is that I’m very happy here. My renewal? This is a subject that I don’t want to discuss too much. For my part, nothing’s started.”
The defender still has three years left on his existing contract and it remains to be seen if the Premier League duo will try to secure his signature.
