Leeds United join race to sign €25m-rated Chelsea striker

West Ham United are ready to make an official move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who spent the last campaign on loan at Southampton. The Irons are eager to add a centre-forward this summer, but face competition from Leeds United and Everton for Albania international’s signature.

Broja scored six league goals for the Saints last campaign and while the numbers don’t stand out, the centre-forward impressed during his loan stint. Armando returns to Stamford Bridge this summer but the Hammers are eager to snap him up from their London rivals.

The Irons are short-handed in the striker department with Michail Antonio their only recognised centre-forward. David Moyes is thus eager to add reinforcements for the position and they have identified the 20-year-old centre-forward as a possible option.

Leeds United and Everton have now entered the battle to add the Albanian centre-forward. The Peacocks struggled in the absence of Bamford last campaign and are intent on adding a new centre-forward to complement the former Chelsea ace and Joe Gelhardt.

As for Everton, they are staring at the prospect of losing both their star forwards Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, with the latter linked to Chelsea. However, as per the report, despite Leeds United and Everton’s interest, West Ham United are still considered favourites to add the Albanian.

The Irons can offer the Blues striker European football next campaign as they are set to play in the UEFA Europa Conference League after finishing seventh in the league table.
