Leicester City are considering a move for Man United winger Jesse Lingard for the summer transfer window of 2022. The 28-year-old attacker has had a couple of turbulent seasons at Theatre of Dreams. Lingard fell down the pecking order under the Norwegian tactician and was dealing with some off-the-field issues that led to a difficult spell.
This led to a loan move away to West Ham United in winter, which turned things around in a spectacular fashion. Indeed, Jesse was one of the best footballers on display in the PL during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign, scoring nine goals and setting up six more, in the process helping the Irons finish sixth and qualify for the Europa League.
England international’s situation at Man United continues to be unfavourable considering that the attacker has to compete with the likes of Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood, Bruno, Donny van de Beek, among others, for a spot in the starting line-up, which means that playing time is likely to be hard to come by.
With the Foxes now joining West Ham United, the English attacker is not short of options should the winger decide to run down his deal at Man United. It will be interesting to see where the Englishman will be playing next campaign. The Hammers continue to hold an interest in Lingard, with the Foxes also joining the chase now.
