Ligue 1 club reportedly interested in securing signature of €20m Chelsea flop

Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille is reportedly targeting the landing of Chelsea’s Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman.

According to the latest reports, the French outfit kept a close eye on Chelsea player during his short loan stint with Stade de Reims last campaign.

Marseille is understood to have been impressed with the exploits of the star and wants to land him before the end of the current transfer market.

Media outlets in France are claiming that Olympique Marseille has a serious interest in the enterprising left-back and could make a €5 million offer to Chelsea to poach Ghana international away from England.

They believe that the landing of the player will give their roster a major boost next campaign where they re expected to feature in the UEFA Europa League as well as the French top-flight and other cup competitions.

Baba Rahman featured 11 times for Marseille’s fellow French side Stade de Reims last season and managed to score once and also created one assist.

He’s still contracted to the Blues and is expected to join them for training very soon following Baba’s recent campaign with his country’s national team at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
