Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Anderlecht centre-back Zeno Debast, who also has Borussia Dortmund as an admirer. Belgium international seems like a hugely promising talent and it seems that Liverpool are monitoring his progress ahead of potentially looking into signing him at some point in the future.
The Reds have a good track record when it comes to identifying the best young talent in the game, and Zeno seems like he could be one to watch in the years to come. Debast is already a senior Belgium international, winning his first two caps for his country this year, and they’ll most likely be the first of many.
The Reds probably wouldn’t have a role for the Belgian centre-back in their first team right now, but it surely won’t be too long before they need to think very seriously about recruiting a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
Virgil van Dijk has had a great career at Liverpool, but is now 31 and starting to look like he might be past his very best, with Liverpool making a poor start to the campaign in general.
The Belgian defender is currently contracted to Anderlecht to 2025 having signed a new deal earlier in the summer, but it is believed he is in line for new terms after making his international bow.
Despite starting less than 20 matches in his career, he earned a call-up to the Belgium senior squad last month and started with both Wales and the Netherlands in their recent Nations League games.
