Liverpool closely monitoring €65m-rated Nigeria international

Liverpool are one of several teams interested in signing Victor Osimhen this summer, with the striker open to leaving Napoli. Since Luis Diaz arrived in winter, the Reds have been the side with the strongest depth in attacking positions.

Alongside the Colombian forward, Liverpool are able to choose from Mane, Salah, Jota, Firmino, Origi and Minamino. The German manager is truly blessed with an embarrassment of riches up front, and yet there may be a new forward ready to arrive in the summer.

Origi is ready to leave in the summer, however, and with Milan ready to snap him up on a free transfer upon the expiry of his deal, the Reds are likely to be in the market for a replacement. All three of Mane, Salah and Firmino are also out of the deal next summer, but they likely won’t need to be replaced this year.

The Reds could add Nigeria international, and it has “emerged that the footballer is open to a move to the PL.” Liverpool are likely to be turned off by his £80m price tag, but if there is genuine interest from the Merseyside giants, I wouldn’t be shocked if they were able to negotiate that price down to a more acceptable value.

His agents have been “given the green light” to offer him around the PL and negotiate on his behalf, but he only wants clubs that can offer UCL football.
