Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Sheyi Ojo as Steven Gerrard looks to boost his ranks.
Sheyi Ojo is about to sign a new deal at Anfield before being loaned out again for next campaign, with Rangers interested in bringing the 21-year-old to Ibrox.
The Scottish giants have wasted no time to get stuck into the summer window, with several players already through the door.
The signings of Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones have been confirmed, and it appears that Steven Gerrard is keen to get more players in quickly.
The Telegraph reports that Liverpool winger is about to sign a new deal after spending the season on loan with Stade de Reims.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, given that he struggled to capture the imagination in France, he is ready to be given the green light to leave on loan again this window.
The report adds that the Gers are one of the teams that want the Sheyi Ojo, while the Daily Star has gone one step further and claimed that the attacker is ready to head to Ibrox ‘immediately’ after he puts pen to paper on a five-year deal.
It may surprise some Reds supporters if the youngster is indeed handed such a lengthy contract. He has potential, but surely has a lot to prove if he hopes to move onto Jurgen Klopp’s first-team, especially when you consider how much attacking quality are available to the German manager.
But from the perspective of Rangers, his move could prove to be a fantastic piece of business if he makes a similar impact to the one that Liverpool teammate Ryan Kent has made during his year in Scotland.
