Liverpool determined to sign 23-year-old Bundesliga attacker

The Merseyside giants are the latest team to join the battle to add Dani Olmo. The 23-year-old playmaker, valued at nearly €50m by RB Leipzig, is also being courted by ex-club Barcelona. Spain international has made massive strides since joining the Bundesliga giants from Dinamo Zagreb in winter 2020.

A crucial figure for club and country, the Spaniard recently played his part as Furia Roja beat Sweden to book a direct entry to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. To date, former Dinamo Zagreb playmaker has featured 67 times for the German club while chipping in with 12 goals and 14 assists along the way.

His progress has not gone unnoticed either, with some of the biggest teams in the world hot on his trail. And as things stand, Barcelona and Liverpool are vying for Olmo’s signature. The interest in Dani makes sense, considering Dembele could leave as a free agent next summer while Braithwaite and Fati are struggling with fitness issues.

However, it has been suggested that a sizable asking fee could come as a blow for the Blaugrana, who might not be able to afford his €50m price tag. That might not necessarily be the case for the Reds, who have now joined the battle to add Dani.

Liverpool have been touted to be in the market for attacking footballers keeping the winter transfer window in mind since Salah and Mane will be unavailable for a month due to their participation at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt and Senegal, respectively.
