Richarlison was a rare bright light for Everton on Wednesday night as The Toffees suffered a substantial 5-2 loss to Merseyside rivals Liverpool at Anfield – and Liverpool supporters have reacted to the Brazilian’s performance for Marco Silva’s side.
Divock Origi netted a brace while Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri and Gini Wijnaldum all got their names on the net sheet. Michael Keane scored from a corner, while Richarlison netted after an excellent cross from Bernard.
Brazil international was heavily involved throughout the match and was involved in a couple of late challenges with Trent Alexander-Arnold. The ex-Watford star was also booked for trodding on Shaqiri.
The 22-year-old attacker has arguably been one of Everton’s best performers this season, shining in a team that are sincerely trying towards the bottom of the Premier League. He has scored seven goals in 18 matches, laying on two assists.
The £50million (BBC) joining from Watford in the summer of 2018 signed a new deal before the clash against Liverpool, extending his contract at Goodison Park until the end of the 2023-24 season. Whether he remains is another question.
Liverpool fans reacted to Richarlison’s play for Everton, with many stating that they would take the Brazilian at Anfield – with some even claiming the attacker could become a target if Everton do indeed get relegated come next May.
