According to the Mail, Roman Abramovich has begun talks to sign Liverpool-associated Borussia Dortmund attacker Christian Pulisic. Chelsea owner arrived in Antibes on Saturday to hold discussions with the club director Marina Granovskaia about the club’s transfer plans for the remainder of the window.
The 19-year-old winger is one of the most coveted young talents in Europe having already established himself as a first-team regular at Dortmund.
Last season, the United States international netted five goals and registered seven assists in 42 matches for the Bundesliga club. Pulisic is highly-respected and admired by Jurgen Klopp, and Liverpool even had a £11 million offer for the midfielder rejected by Dortmund two years ago.
‘I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid and he’s still not old,’ Klopp said last week before Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Dortmund. ‘He’s a fantastic player, and it’s deserved that people think highly of him in America, in Germany, it’s the same.
Liverpool meanwhile are set to offer Sadio Mane new contract offer. The No.10 has signed a five-year deal when he joined from Southampton for £34 million back in 2016.
