Liverpool held negotiations with 19-year-old English attacker

The Merseyside giants are mulling over a new move for Fabio Carvalho. Liverpool have been following U18 England international’s progress for quite some time now and are currently weighing up a £5m bid. Carvalho’s current deal at Fulham expires at the end of the campaign, but it appears the Reds are keen on snapping him up in winter.

Formerly of the Benfica youth academy, Fabio arrived at Fulham in 2014, at the age of 12. Since then, the 19-year-old playmaker has made a solid impression at the Cottagers’ youth level, even making his PL debut last campaign.

Unfortunately for the English playmaker, the Cottagers ended up being relegated from the top-flight, although that has turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the teenager received a full-time promotion to the senior side. So far this campaign, Fabio has played 16 games in the Championship, scoring seven goals.

Carvalho has also notched up four assists, helping the Cottagers emerge as the undisputed favourites to seal a direct promotion back to the top-flight. However, with his deal expiring in the summer, the Englishman’s spell at Fulham could soon come to an end. Carvalho was linked with a slew of PL earlier in the campaign.

Fabio could finally be on the move this winter, with the Reds among the teams interested in securing his services. However, Liverpool are ready to face stiff competition from West Ham United in the pursuit of the Cottagers playmaker.
