Liverpool held negotiations with 20-year-old La Liga winger

Liverpool are plotting a move for Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams. The Reds completed most of their transfer business early into the window with three additions secured ahead of their come back to action next month, but now an update has emerged on another possible move this summer.

As per the report, Liverpool are keeping tabs on U21 Spain international, but they will need to convince the Spanish club with a tempting offer as a move is unlikely this summer.

With Mane, Origi and Minamino making a move away from Liverpool this summer, it would certainly do the Reds no harm in bolstering their attack even further, and Nico could be a great prospect for the future of the cub.

Williams has become a crucial figure in the team at Athletic Bilbao and put in some fantastic displays for his side scoring three goals in all tournaments over the last campaign.

Indeed, the Spaniard predominantly plays in the right-winger position which means he wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter at Liverpool as Salah has extended his deal to 2025, nevertheless, the chance to train with and learn from one of the best wingers in the world right now could be a tempting chance for the attacker.

With that being said, there is no doubt that the signing of the 20-year-old winger would be a great chance to bolster their squad and to put some plans into place for the future, however, it would depend on the winger’s expectation on playing time as he would for the moment fall down the pecking order at Anfield.
