Manchester United think they are favourites to land Dortmund star Jadon Sancho ahead of rivals Liverpool and Chelsea.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named the teenager as a priority target last January and his Manchester United board were willing to make Jadon Sancho the most expensive player in the club’s history last summer.
However, Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League ended any hopes of a move, and the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have since joined the race.
Frank Lampard, in particular, is thought to be keen on signing the former Manchester City ace and Chelsea are free to transfer for the winger after seeing their transfer ban reduced earlier this month.
Nevertheless, the Mirror claim Manchester United are confident of getting a deal for Jadon Sancho over the line as they can offer the winger first-team football at Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho would be struggling with the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at Anfield, while Frank Lampard has a wealth of attackers in Callum Hudson-Odoi, Willian, Pedro and Christian Pulisic.
Speculation has been rife that Jadon Sancho could leave Dortmund in January after a hard start to the campaign in Germany.
Though, the Bundesliga giants are unwilling to listen to suggestions for Jadon Sancho in the winter market and will instead wait until the end of the campaign before evaluating the situation.
