Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus has his ‘heart set on’ a summer transfer to Liverpool. The 24-year-old midfielder has been with Borussia Monchengladbach since 2017, signing from 1860 Munich.
Following a loan spell away at Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2017/18, Florian has been a regular fixture in the side at Borussia Park, racking up 115 games in which he has produced a return of 15 goals and 20 assists. Neuhaus has been particularly great in the ongoing season, bagging seven goals and eight assists from 42 matches in all tournaments.
Germany international’s rise to prominence in Bundesliga has seen him attract suitors from across Europe, with the likes of Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur taking a keen interest in his services. Along with these teams, reigning English champions, the Reds have also expressed a liking towards the German midfielder.
Reds interest in Florian is more than justified as Liverpool will be in need of reinforcements in the middle of the park ahead of the next campaign.
Indeed, Georginio Wijnaldum is ready to leave at the end of the campaign with his deal on the verge of expiry while there are huge question marks over the future of Naby Keita, who has underwhelmed since arriving from RB Leipzig.
With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also not kicking on as expected and James Milner not getting any younger, a new midfielder is very much a necessity for Reds if they are to rise back to the top after what has been an underwhelming defence of their PL crown. And, Neuhaus, to that end, would be a viable option for Liverpool to consider.
