Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among the teams planning to make a move for Olympiacos centre-back Ousseynou Ba during the summer transfer window.
Both sides are believed to be keen to strengthen their backlines when the transfer window will be re-opened, with Mikel Arteta looking for more competition in his defensive end and Liverpool are in the market for Dejan Lovren replacement.
Sporttime claims that Mikel Arteta was impressed by Ba’s form for Olympiacos as they knocked the Gunners out of the Europa League before the coronavirus lockdown and is now planning a summer move for his signature.
The 24-year-old has played 18 games for the Greek outfit this campaign and is believed to be valued at around €20m (£17.8m).
The Merseyside Reds and the Gunners could face stiff competition for his services from fellow Premier League side Wolves, who are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements ahead of Ryan Bennett’s likely exit when his current deal expires.
Ba has also come up against Nuno Espirito Santo’s team in the Europa League this campaign, playing out a 1-1 draw in the last-16 tie and they had a chance to keep close tabs on a 24-year-old defender during the matchup.
