Liverpool in pole position to sign No.8 Switzerland international

Liverpool and Man United have enquired about the possibility of signing Denis Zakaria. The Borussia Monchengladbach footballer is ready to leave the German club when his deal expires at the end of the campaign.

Switzerland international has already confirmed he won’t be signing a deal extension, putting many teams on red alert. However, it appears Liverpool and Man United are both exploring the option of signing Denis in the winter.

The PL giants believe the Bundesliga club could be tempted into a sale, knowing they may otherwise have to be content with Zakaria leaving the Foals for a free transfer next summer. As things stand, the German club are already ready to lose another top performer for free in the form of Matthias Ginter.

Like the 25-year-old midfielder, the German defender has confirmed his desire not to continue at Gladbach, with his deal at Borussia Park expiring in the summer. Ginter is more likely to leave the German giants at the end of the campaign, with Bayern Munich reportedly closing in on a Bosman deal.

The pressure is now on the German club to make a definite decision on the future of the Swiss midfielder. Zakaria is one of the most in-demand footballers in Europe, with Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Liverpool keen on his services.

The German tactician is also known to be a huge admirer of Zakaria, as Jurgen Klopp seems to enhance his options in central midfield this winter.
