Liverpool in the hunt to sign 19-year-old Germany international

The Merseyside giants will make their move to land RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi in winter. Germany international came through the ranks at Forstenried before moving to Bayern Munich in 2010. Adeyemi spent two years with the German club before switching to Spielvereinigung Unterhaching, where the striker stayed until 2018.

Karim signed with Austrian club RB Salzburg in 2018 and spent time on loan at Liefering, where he made his senior bow. The 19-year-old striker has since gone from strength to strength. The German centre-forward has since played 61 games for the Austrian club, scoring and assisting 17 goals each.

With Patson Daka sold to Leicester City, RB Salzburg have discovered another goal-scoring machine in Karim. Adeyemi has scored seven goals and made two assists in 11 matches this campaign. A regular now, Adeyemi also made his bow for the German national side, scoring on his debut.

Liverpool’s trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are on their day one of the most fearsome attacks in world football. The trio is, however, nearing 30 and will need to be replaced sooner or later. In Karim, they could get a centre-forward who could become a prolific goalscorer for years to come.

The German manager’s side has already raided RB Leipzig in the past. Takumi Minamino arrived at Anfield in 2020 to mixed success. Whether Karim will join him on Merseyside stays to be seen. The Reds are ready to lose Salah and Mane due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
