Liverpool in three-way battle to sign Swiss attacking midfielder

According to calciomercato, Liverpool have entered the running for teenage attacking midfielder Joel Ribeiro, who is also being monitored by three Italian teams ahead of a possible summer switch.

Inter Milan, Atalanta and Torino are all understood to be keeping tabs on Joel Ribeiro, who does not have a professional contract with his current side Lausanne.

The 16-year-old has made national appearances for Switzerland at Under 15 and 16 levels in recent years and is thought to be a star of the future.

The report adds that Inter Milan are the side who have made their interest known to the teenager the most, however, Liverpool are also emerging as strong competitors for Joel Ribiero’s services.

With the youngster not looking for first-team football at this stage of his career, the Reds could well land the player over the summer and place the Swiss in the academy at Melwood, from where Raheem Sterling came through and made an instant impact in the Reds’ first-team.

Spanish attacker Suso joined Anfield side being 15 years old, and the winger made his first-team debut under Brendan Rodgers and now plies his trade with AC Milan where he has become an integral part of the Serie A side.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are linked with moves for Timo Werner, and Paulo Dybala as both attackers are preparing to leave their sides in the summer, and the Reds have opened their doors for both players but will have to choose which one to land when the transfer window opens.
