Although they’ll not sign him this summer, Merseyside club could potentially land PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe for as little as £91m in the future. Leonardo admitted it was frustrating to see France international linked with Madrid and appeared to be growing frustrated with Zizou’s constant attempts to tempt him to Bernabeu.
Kylian hasn’t discussed his future plans at any great length at this juncture, but it’s believed that both Liverpool and the Los Blancos would be keen to acquire his services if he were to make it clear he wanted to leave PSG. That’s also crucial for lowering his price.
Mbappe has two years left to run on his current deal, and if he allows that to run down to a year and refuses to sign an extension, as prospective buyers will be able to sign him for £91m. Earlier this campaign, PSG sporting director Leonardo gave an insight into their anger at La Liga giants constant efforts to turn the 21-year-old star’s head.
Should he sign a one-year extension to the deal, which it’s understood Parisians want him to do, then another £35m will be added to the price. If the Reds can bide their time and play the long game in the meantime, there might just be an opportunity of the German tactician pulling off a real transfer coup next summer.
Just this week, it was reported that the Merseyside giants are in ‘regular contact’ with Mbappe over a summer move in 2021. However, Real Madrid legend Paco Buyo believes the French superstar has already decided on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
