Liverpool leading race to sign €30m-rated Belgium international

The Merseyside giants are leading the race to add Jeremy Doku. Stade Rennais forward is facing an unknown future at Roazhon Park and could leave at the end of the campaign. Belgium international’s situation has put several teams on red alert.

The Reds, for one, had been linked with a move for Doku even in the summer transfer window. And it appears Liverpool will be set to snap Jeremy next summer, with the German tactician keen on strengthening his offensive options.

Formerly of the famed Anderlecht youth academy, the 19-year-old winger, along with Charles de Ketelaere, another Reds target, is considered as one of the best up and coming talents in Belgian football. Both were a part of the nation’s squad at UEFA Euro 2020 and are currently making their presence felt for their respective teams.

The Belgian attacker, in particular, is undoubtedly one of the hottest prospects in Ligue 1, having featured in 41 competitive games for Stade Rennais. His tally of only two goals and four assists might not seem too impressive, but the teenager has had a far greater influence in the final third with his pace and trickery.

In fact, former Anderlecht winger was recently voted as one of the top ten contenders of the Kopa Trophy and was included in a list that includes other super-talents like Jude Bellingham, Pedri and Mason Greenwood. Jeremy’s rapid rise to prominence has now attracted the attention of a Reds side that intend to increase the overall depth of their front-line.
