Liverpool leading race to sign €40m-rated Netherlands international

The Merseyside giants are set to splash the cash to land Arnaut Danjuma who continues to impress in La Liga. The Netherlands international moved to Villarreal last summer from Championship club Bournemouth. Beset by injuries and inconsistency during his stint with Bournemouth, Danjuma now seems like a different footballer in La Liga.

Arnaut has represented the La Liga giants 18 times this campaign, scoring nine times and assisting three more. His performances have not gone unnoticed, and the Reds are keeping a close eye on developments.

Liverpool are currently readying a massive €45m offer for the 24-year-old winger’s services as they appear set to take a punt on the forward in the ongoing winter transfer window. Liverpool have one of the most potent attacks in world football.

However, they will now have to do without Salah and Mane, who are ready to represent their nations at this month’s AFCON. While it can hand the likes of Jota more game time, it leaves Jurgen Klopp’s options upfront stretched. Therefore, it makes sense that Liverpool are keen to splash the cash on the Dutch forward right now.

The Dutch winger also spent two campaigns at Bournemouth. While his stint at the Vitality Stadium wasn’t the best, the ability the Dutchman possessed was never in doubt.

Danjuma also has a good idea of the traits needed to succeed in English football. Should he move to Liverpool, it will be a triumphant return for a footballer who looked lost at Bournemouth.
