Liverpool offered services of £40m winger from German club

Thorgan Hazard aspires to join Borussia Dortmund this summer despite interest from Liverpool. The Belgium international is a target for Jurgen Klopp this summer as he aims to add more attacking options to his side in the summer.

Borussia Monchengladbach are aware of clubs vying for Thorgan Hazard’s signature but are keen to avoid cashing in on their star man to a direct rival. Belgian publication Nieuwsblad claim Hazard prefers a switch to Dortmund and will push for that transfer.

Dortmund have already made an offer of £36 million for the winger, who is out of contract next summer.

The Belgian star has scored 12 goals and provided eleven assists in 29 matches this season. Monchengladbach are competing for a Champions League spot this year, but are ready to sell their star.

The German side want to convince Thorgan Hazard to sign for Liverpool, who are ready to better Dortmund’s offer. The player, though, feels at home in Germany and has already set his sights on joining BVB.

The 26-year-old attacker also thinks he may struggle for consistent playing time at Liverpool, who are already blessed with excellent attacking options. Thorgan Hazard has already told his club he wants to move at the end of the campaign.

‘We made our intentions to extend Thorgan’s contract clear a while back now, but he hasn’t reciprocated that interest,’ German club’s director Max Eberl stated. ‘He has now told us that he doesn’t want to extend his contract and instead wants to take the next step in his career by leaving the club.’
