Liverpool ready to listen to offers for £120,000-a-week midfielder

The Merseyside giants coach Jurgen Klopp has reportedly held negotiations with Naby Keita and agreed that he can leave Liverpool. This is because the Merseyside giants are “completely convinced” about sealing the transfer of Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara.

Guinea international has struggled to settle since joining Liverpool, and it could be that the club now want to bring in Spain international as an upgrade in that area of the pitch.

Given that Naby hasn’t really lived up to expectations, Reds doesn’t really have enough creativity in their midfield, with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum more defensive-minded options, with the creativity often coming from full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson.

Thiago, however, is looking set to leave Bundesliga giants and the Reds are determined to bring him to Liverpool. Remarkably, the final nine games of the 2019/20 PL campaign following the return of football in June was Keita’s longest stretch of consecutive games for Reds, starting five and coming off the bench in the other four.

This follows claims that the German tactician has also held negotiations with Thiago about a move, as claimed by Fabrizio Romano. The Spanish midfielder, however, has an asking price currently deemed too expensive for Reds, according to Romano, so selling someone like Naby could make perfect sense in order to help fund the Thiago deal.

Blaugrana could be interested in signing the Guinean midfielder as he seems ready to become available. The Guinean midfielder previously looked an exciting talent at former club RB Leipzig and may be better suited to Spanish football after struggling in the PL.
