Man United close to agree £100m deal for 27-year-old big-name star

The Times claims that Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea could be on the verge of agreeing to a new deal extending his stay time at Old Trafford beyond 2019.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2011, signed a four-year deal in 2015 which will terminate in less than 18 months.

De Gea has made over 300 appearances for the Manchester United in the last seven years, but his fate was previously in doubt.

He nearly joined Real Madrid in 2015 before committing his future and signing a new contract, but history has come to repeating itself three years after this event.

Real Madrid are again eager to sign the Spanish international as they search for a long-term replacement for Keylor Navas, who turns 32 later this year.

Man United have declared they want to keep De Gea notwithstanding interest in his signature, and they appear close to persuading him to sign another renewal.

The £100m keeper recently verified that he’s happy to be at Old Trafford, and he’s been in incredible form this season too.

He’s managed to keep 15 clean sheets in 27 Premier League matches, with Jose Mourinho’s side currently second in the Premier League table.
