According to reports, Serie A giants Inter Milan willing to sign Manchester United midfielder, Juan Mata.
Spaniard’s current deal lapses at the end of the season, but the Red Devils have an option to extend his contract by an additional 12 months.
The 29-year-old Mata want to be sure he proceeds to have a prospect at Old Trafford before committing himself to a new deal.
But Inter are now eyeing progress accurately and will be available to move in should Mata be permitted to leave at the end of the season.
Despite being shipped out of Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has used Mata regularly at United.
But if Portuguese head coach’s side wants to achieve a big deal for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil – a free agent in the summer – then they may be ready to let Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan leave.
Armenian international was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Everton on New Year’s Day.
He could be given a rare opportunity to impress against Derby in the FA Cup on Friday.
The Armenian started against Southampton last Saturday, but it was his first since the win over Tottenham in October.
