Manchester United and Arsenal have contacted Paris Saint-Germain over the potential signing of Presnel Kimpembe, who is a regular at Parc des Princes and played under Unai Emery when he was in charge at the club.
Unai Emery is a big fan of the defender and holds him in ‘high esteem’. The Gunners have asked for information about the centre-back’s availability this summer, but so too has their Premier League rivals, Manchester United.
The 23-year-old is under contract until 2023, so Ligue 1 champions will be under no pressure to sell him.
The PSG ace wants a switch to the Premier League at some stage in his career, but it remains to be seen if he would be open to the move this window.
The English duo are on the hunt for a centre-back this transfer window, with the Red Devils’ pursuit of a new defender dating back to last year.
Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly have been linked with moves to Old Trafford, but both players are rated at around £80 million by their respective sides.
Arsenal’s search for a new talisman at the back has been hampered by a lack of transfer funds. Unai Emery has only £45 million to spend this summer and may have to cash in on several players to raise further funds for signings, and the addition of the France international will be a great piece of business.
Meanwhile Manchester United are also targeting Stuttgart’s Turkish defender Ozan Kabak, who has €15 million release clause.
