Man United held negotiations with 22-year-old France international

Man United are poised to offload Anthony Martial in the summer. France international has not had much success since joining the Red Devils in the summer of 2015 and could be on his way out of Theatre of Dreams after the end of the campaign.

The Red Devils have already lined with Moussa Diaby as the desired replacement for Anthony. They are tipped to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen forward next summer, as the Norwegian coach continues to add more quality in his offensive unit.

Formerly of the PSG youth academy, France international has enjoyed immense success since his €15m move to Bundesliga giants in 2019. During his ongoing two and a half year spell in Germany, Diaby has featured in almost 100 competitive games for Bayer Leverkusen, taking part in 46 goals.

Moussa’s speed and productivity have been critical in Bayer Leverkusen’s rise to prominence in recent years. In fact, the 22-year-old winger has been a protagonist in the German club’s impressive start to the season under Gerardo Seoane, with the forward scoring four goals in seven games.

The French winger’s blazing displays in the Bundesliga even compelled Didier Deschamps to hand him his France debut earlier in the season. And it appears his progress is being monitored by the Red Devils as well, with the English giants keen on replacing Martial next campaign.

Man United have not had much success with the capture of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer. But they believe the Frenchman has what it takes to not only replace Anthony Martial but also put pressure on the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho.
