Man United in the battle to sign €35m-rated Brazil international

Ajax have raised their transfer fee demands for key winger Antony, who is a top target for Man United this summer. Having initially asked £68m for the 22-year-old winger, the Eredivisie giants are now demanding £84m. Antony has enjoyed great success since joining the Dutch club two years ago.

Brazil international played a crucial role in Ajax winning the Eredivisie title last campaign but could be on the move this summer. Erik ten Hag, who managed to get the best out of him in the Netherlands, is now seeking a reunion with him at Man United.

The Dutch coach took over the reins at Man United earlier this summer and has been going after many Ajax players this summer. Having failed in his attempts to sign Jurrien Timber, Erik ten Hag lured Lisandro Martinez from the Dutch club and is now pushing for the Red Devils to add the Brazilian attacker.

Man United need attacking reinforcements as question marks continue to linger over the future of Ronaldo. The form of Sancho and Rashford in the pre-season bodes well for Man United after the duo endured disappointing seasons last time out. But, they continue to lack a quality operator on the right flank.

Man United and Ajax have been in negotiations with each other for the signing of the Brazilian for a while now. Initially, the Dutch giants were said to be demanding a sum of £68m to let their prized asset leave and reunite with Erik ten Hag in England.
