Man United in the battle to sign €50m-rated French playmaker

Man United are ready to enter the market for Christopher Nkunku. The RB Leipzig attacker has emerged as one of the most in-demand prospects in the European market, thanks to a blistering start to the campaign. It has resulted in interest from almost all major teams in Europe, and the Red Devils have been no exception.

After the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as the new interim coach, Man United is expected to raid RB Leipzig for many star footballers. Indeed, the German tactician is keen on a reunion with some of the talented footballers he has managed in the past, having already been linked with a swoop for Amadou Haidara recently.

It appears the 24-year-old playmaker has also joined the list of footballers wanted by Ralf, having enjoyed a fantastic spell at RB Leipzig. Formerly of PSG, Nkunku was initially brought in at RB Leipzig by the German coach in the summer of 2019.

Since then, Christopher has featured in 104 competitive games for the Bundesliga giants, scoring 25 goals while chipping in with 36 assists. Quite extraordinarily, 25 of the French playmaker’s 61 goal involvements for RB Leipzig have come in the new campaign.

The Frenchman is indeed the third most productive footballer in the Champions League this campaign with seven goals and three assists, while his tally in the Bundesliga stands at five goals and eight assists.

It makes Nkunku the league’s second-highest assist-maker, behind Muller. Christopher’s rapid rise to prominence has now put Man United on red alert as the PL giants look to shore up their attacking options in winter.
