Man United in the hunt to sign 25-year-old Spain international

Man United are considering making a move for Pau Torres in the summer, and the centre-back could be considered a potential target. A firm decision could be made in the coming weeks with Erik ten Hag’s approval, although Man United need to be wary of competitors are vying for the 25-year-old centre-back’s signature.

Spain international has been one of the standout footballers at Villarreal in the last two campaigns after some fantastic displays for the Yellow Submarine. The Spanish defender helped the team win the UEL title last term while managing to reach the UCL semi-finals this campaign.

Naturally, there has been significant interest in the Spaniard coming from the PL. Tottenham and Chelsea have been among those mentioned as potential suitors, with Man United also looking at Pau to solve their defensive issues.

However, Man United and Man City are also keen on signing Torres, and it may seem like the Red Devils could be serious about approaching. Many factors are blocking the club from submitting an enquiry as they await the arrival of new coach Erik ten Hag from Ajax, while there are impending changes to be made behind the scenes.

Pau could be available for nearly €55m due to a release clause in his deal. The price tag may not be a problem for big clubs like Man United. However, whichever side is quicker in approaching might get to sign the centre-back first.
