Man United join race to sign No.9 Austrian striker

Sasa Kalajdzic has become a subject of interest from Man United, who have held initial negotiations with the striker’s representatives. Although the Red Devils are yet to meet Austria international personally, they are exploring the possibility of snapping him up this summer.

Sasa himself is intrigued by the prospect of joining the Red Devils, as he is keen on taking the next step in his career this summer. Kalajdzic has had a successful spell at Stuttgart that has seen him become one of the most in-demand young centre-forwards in the Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old striker made his breakthrough in the Bundesliga during the 2020/21 season, racking up 16 goals and six assists in the league. Although his progress was marred by injuries last campaign, the Austrian centre-forward remains high on the list of several teams due to his imposing frame and ability to sniff goalscoring chances.

Such qualities have made the Austrian an appealing target for the Red Devils. Man United are determined to add more firepower in the goalscoring department this summer following the exit of Cavani, while Ronaldo is being subjected to a move away from Theatre of Dreams.

Although Sasa does not offer much experience at the highest level and is coming on the back of a rather bad Bundesliga season with Stuttgart, the striker has the physical and aerial qualities to thrive in the English top-flight. Kalajdzic is unlikely to cost a fortune either, with his current contract at Stuttgart expiring in 2023.
