Man United leading race to sign 24-year-old La Liga forward

Barcelona are prepared to cash in on Ousmane Dembele in winter. The Blaugrana have tried their hand at renewing the deal of France international before it expires at the end of the campaign. However, Dembele’s hefty demands have put off the Blaugrana, who are prepared to offload him this month for a fee of nearly €20m.

The Catalan giants have offered two PL teams the chance to sign Ousmane, Man United and Newcastle United. They are aware of Man United’s long-standing interest in the footballer, with the Red Devils previously attempting to lure him to Theatre of Dreams about a year ago.

However, it stays to be seen whether Man United will be all too keen on signing the 24-year-old winger this month, given their eye-catching summer acquisitions of Sancho and Ronaldo.

One of their star footballers in Martial has been linked with a winter move to the Blaugrana, but the French winger’s hefty wage demands might just put off Ralf Rangnick and the new management club. A more logical destination for the French ace, therefore, could be Newcastle United.

After being taken over by a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium, Newcastle United are prepared to splash the cash in the market in an effort to stave off relegation this campaign.

They are certainly in a position to afford the French forward’s wages, in addition to the €20m transfer fee. The Toon have already brought in two fresh faces in the form of Trippier and Wood this month.
