Man United ready to make £175m bid for Spain international

Manchester United are reportedly ready to £175million to beat Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool to the transfer of Marco Asensio.

The Real Madrid attacking midfielder is considered to be one of the top young talents and is seemingly a priority for Jose Mourinho. As Don Balon claims, the Red Devils are prepared to fork out a club-record £175m for Asensio, which Real Madrid do not intend to sell, but it is reported that the player himself is tempted to move to Old Trafford.

The Spaniard could certainly fit in well with the tactics of Portuguese manager, who look in need of more spark and creativity in their side after a frustrating season.

It’s clear that more big-name signings could be required, and Asensio would surely be an upgrade on inconsistent performers such as Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.

And according to Diario Gol Liverpool had been in touch about snapping him up, but the Red Devils must be favourites as they have the resources to beat their rivals in the race because Los Blancos have recently rejected the £132m bid from Chelsea.
