According to the Sun, Manchester United are set to battle with Chelsea for Genoa wonderkid Pietro Pellegri and he will cost around £40million.
Manchester United’s current attacking lineup looks very strong due to the presence of superstar striker Romelu Lukaku as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will be returning in January.
It is claimed that United probably need to sign a new forward next summer due to the possibility of losing the veteran Ibrahimovic at the end of the season and the Red Devils are already said to have identified various targets to pursue.
While United also have Marcus Rashford capable of playing in the striker’s position, the Red Devils are said to be looking to sign another one of the biggest prospects in Europe by acquiring the services of Genoa wonderkid Pietro Pellegri.
The 16-year-old attacker who has already scored three goals in six league games for Genoa so far this season. Such performances have attracted the interest from a host of top clubs across Europe, along with United.
The Red Devils are now expected to be fighting it out with Premier League side Chelsea for the signature of Pellegri, and the Sun have claimed that Genoa have placed an asking price of around £40million for the teenage sensation.
Man United already boast a young and strong attacking line-up which includes Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Lukaku and another talented player such as Pellegri will fit straight in at Old Trafford.
