Chelsea set to consider a move for Anthony Martial if Jose Mourinho fails to convince the Frenchman to stay at the club. Martial is believed to be frustrated with his role, having started less than half of the Red Devils’ Premier League fixtures this term.
The arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal has not helped Martial’s cause and his representatives have been exploring the possibility of a summer switch.
Tottenham, along with Arsenal and Barcelona are said to be interested in signing Martial, but now, they will face competition from Chelsea. The Daily Telegraph reports the Blues are one of many clubs to have expressed interest in securing a deal for France international, with Roman Abramovich keen to spend big after a tough season. Rather than bolstering the squad’s defensive options, Abramovich is looking to sign forwards with Martial firmly on his radar.
Anthony Martial’s current contract will expire next summer and recent reports claim the Manchester United boss is prepared to sell winger if he requests a move at the end of the season.
