Victor Lindelof looks set to remain at Manchester United this summer despite interest from La Liga giants Barcelona.
The Spanish champions are exploring alternatives to Matthijs de Ligt who has been on the verge to make move to Juventus.
And Swedish defender is on Barca’s shortlist, although the Red Devils have told the club that they have no plans to sell their 23-year-old centre-back who has been tipped to become a vital player of their backline.
Lindelof is currently with the Red Devils squad for the start of their pre-season tour in Australia and the Swedish defender agent admits Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side must be the ones to instigate negotiations for a transfer to happen.
‘Lindelof is in the orbit of a great European club, but leaving United depends on the English club,’ Hasan Cetinkaya told Mundo Deportivo.
The Red Devils remain in the market for a new defensive option and are in talks with Leicester City over a deal for English centre-back Harry Maguire.
However, United face competition from their bitter rivals Manchester City for the England international, while the Foxes are demanding a £90m transfer fee for their in-demand defender.
Meanwhile, Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti has been also linked with a switch to Old Trafford as Norwegian manager seems to be a huge fan of a world-cup winner, however, if the Catalans miss out signing of De Light it seems unlikely to see Frenchman’s exit from Nou Camp.
