Reports claim that Manchester United and Manchester City are set to lock horns over the transfer of Portuguese wonderkid Florentino Luis.
The 20-year-old is being tipped as one of the brightest talents in Portugal right now, and this could be the start of an interesting trail from the English top-tier.
According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils are among Florentino’s suitors, however, the youngster has a whopping £91m release clause in his current deal.
However, they recently got more for Joao Felix, who has really hit the ground running at La Liga giants fter his summer move, and that could spur other top teams to keep a close eye on talented Portuguese players.
The report suggests that the Citizens are preparing a £55m bid in order to test the resolve of Portuguese giants.
With the Red Devils light in midfield, it may be easier for them to pitch a move to Old Trafford as it would be a lot more tough for the youngster to cement his place in Man City squad due to high competition in the midfield area.
The Red Devils have already lost Ander Herrera on a free this summer and never replaced him, and there’s Nemanja Matic whose future has been up in the air.
It is added by the Daily Star that the 20-times English champions are continuing to scout Benfica another star Ruben Dias.
They could join former Benfica star Victor Lindelof at Man Utd if the Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjer decides to prioritise them both on his transfer list during the January transfer window.
