Manchester United have reportedly been offered securing services of Mauro Icardi as part of a deal which would see Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan this summer.
Lukaku continues to be rumoured with a move away from the 20-times English champions and Inter are believed to be the frontrunners to land the Belgium international forward ahead of the 2019-20 season.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A giants are prepared to use Argentina international forward Mauro Icardi, who has managed to found back of the net 17 times in 37 games for his Italian team during the 2018-19 campaign, as a makeweight in a possible deal for Romelu Lukaku.
Icardi was stripped from the captaincy in February as his relationship with the Serie A heavyweights soured.
The 26-year-old forward eventually returned to the team following a knee injury, however, has only played the full 90 minutes in two of Inter’s last nine games in the Italian top-tier.
Icardi has been left out of the Argentina team for the 2019 Copa America – has found back of the net 124 times in 219 games for I Nerazzurri since a 2013 switch from Sampdoria.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly joined their direct Premier League rivals Manchester United in the race to secure services of Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes in this summer’s transfer window.
The Portugal international midfielder who is currently with the national team played for Sunday’s UEFA Nations League final against Switzerland that has been finished with a triumph for him, has been strongly rumoured with a move to the Red Devils this summer.
However, according to Record, the Merseyside Reds are now in the race for the 24-year-old midfielder, whose agent Miguel Pinho will fly to London next week in order to open talks with hosts of Premier League teams.
