According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Man United, Tottenham Hotspur and PSG have registered an interest in signing Ajax star Andre Onana.
It’s reported that the goalkeeper’s agent, Albert Botines, is informed of the interest in his client’s services.
French outlet RMC Sport claimed that the Ajax ace denied the chance to return to Barcelona this summer. It was also reported that PSG were keen on his services, but the Parisians finally joined Keylor Navas from Real Madrid.
De Telegraaf reply that the Amsterdam outfit value the 23-year-old between €40m and €50m. This equates to approximately £35m to £43m.
The Cameroonian is agreed with the Dutch giants until the summer of 2022.
The ace left Barca in the summer of 2015 to sign Ajax and he hasn’t watched back since. The stopper was integral as his side made a domestic double and defied the odds to reach the Champions League semi-finals last campaign.
Onana has now solidly established himself as one of the greatest young goalkeepers in the world. Not many stoppers have the experience that the 23-year-old does.
Onana left Cameroon as a child to join La Liga giants and embark on his dream to become a professional footballer.
The ace’s skills wouldn’t have been found if it wasn’t for African football symbol Samuel Eto’o setting up an academy to search his homeland for bright prospects.
It’s difficult to believe this report considering that the Red Devils handed a bumper new contract to David de Gea in September. The Express claim that the Spaniard earns a staggering £375,000-a-week.
