Adidas reportedly played a vital role in keeping France international midfielder, Paul Pogba at Old Trafford beyond the end of the this summer’s transfer window.
The world-cup winning playmaker was heavily linked with a move to La Liga giants, Real Madrid throughout the summer, however, ultimately stayed with the 20-times English champions past the deadline.
According to the Daily Star, Adidas have urged Frenchman, who has been an ever-present for the Red Devils in the early stages of the 2019-20 season, to remain at Old Trafford for at least one more year.
The German sportswear label are the playmaker’s personal sponsor, while they have a £750m agreement with the Red Devils to provide the teams kit until 2024.
The Premier League giants are believed to be determined to tie Pogba at Old Trafford with a new deal, Frenchman has provided two Premier League assists in four outings this campaign, to a new long-term contract at the club.
However, the French midfielder has reportedly made it clear to Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side that he will not be penning an extension following his desire to leave the club as he is open for a new challenge.
