Football Insider can reveal that Norwich City have entered the hunt to land Chelsea goalscoring midfielder Kasey Palmer.
The 22-year-old star was close to resigning for Bristol City on a permanent deal this summer but the reported deal stalled even though head coach wants him back after a successful loan spell at Ashton Gate last season.
A Blues source has told Football Insider that Norwich manager Daniel Farke is plotting a move to sign England Under-21 international Kasey and his club have made an approach.
The UEFA Europa League holders want £4m for the London-born player who has another two years to run on his current deal.
EPL new boys Norwich are planning to bolster their midfield options and regard Kasey as a possible high quality and good value recruit.
The Canaries scouts have been closely monitoring Palmer who has impressed in both of Chelsea’s pre-season matches in Ireland and have rekindled their interest in signing the star in the next three weeks.
He wasn’t one of the eight players sent back to West London ahead of possible loan moves before August’s deadline.
Norwich City will need to beat multiple sides across England if they are to bring in Palmer, who has netted regularly during multiple Championship loans, as well as for his country age-group sides and Chelsea Under-23s.
Meanwhile, Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic has opened up on his current relationship with manager Frank Lampard.
As quoted by ESPN, the American star said: “It’s been great. Obviously, I grew up watching him and having him here, giving me pointers and helping the team is awesome to have him around and it’s nice to have a guy we can really relate to, so it’s been great so far.”
