Out-of-favour Liverpool midfielder unlikely to stay at Anfield beyond summer

Liverpool are said to loan out one of their young prodigies this week, the highly-rated midfielder is attracting the interest of several Championship sides.

According to Goal, Liverpool star Herbie Kane is expected to seal a loan switch to the Championship this week, the 20-year-old ace has many admirers in the English second division – with Hull City, Brentford, Charlton Athletic, Luton Town and Millwall all interested in securing the former England youth international’s services.

Herbie was a standout performer for Doncaster Rovers in League One last campaign, the all-round midfielder made 49 matches across all competitions last campaign – Kane managed to net seven goals and provide 10 assists from midfield.

Herbie was integral in his club’s run to the League One Playoff Semi-Finals.

The ace’s impressive displays for Rovers look to have caught the eye of the above Championship sides and following his impressive campaign, it looks like as though the youngster is prepared to step up to next level.

The former Bristol City starlet could favour a move to Hull City as they’ve just appointed Grant McCann as head coach – McCann was in charge of Doncaster last campaign.

It’s understood that McCann is interested in bringing the ace to Hull on a season-long loan, he has also made an enquiry to loan attacker Ben Woodburn from the Reds.

At the international level, Kane has 21 matches for England’s youth teams – with the bulk of those coming for England’s U17s, the star certainly has the pedigree to succeed at the top.

The Reds’ central midfield ranks are currently stacked, so it is in Jurgen Klopp’s best interest to loan Herbie out for the season, if the talent is impressive whilst away – the opportunity to break into the Reds’ senior team could arise in the future.
