AC Milan could potentially make an offer to Olivier Giroud in January, the Italian outlet Calciomercato reports. Both parties – the club and the player – can win from such deal, the media suggests.
Olivier Giroud has little playing time at Chelsea under Frank Lampard as the manager prefers Tammy Abraham as a starter and Michy Batshuayi as his direct replacement. The Frenchman is still highly valued by his national team boss Didier Deschamps despite that though.
If Giroud’s situation at Chelsea will not improve drastically in the following months, he might look for an exit in January, Calciomercato claims. In this case, AC Milan should seize the opportunity to sign the striker.
Rossoneri are currently experiencing difficulties in the attack as they have only managed to score 4 goals in 6 league games. Meanwhile, their top striker Krzysztof Piatek is linked with many Europe’s top clubs and Milan may need a replacement.
Calciomercato point put that there are no ongoing negotiations with Giroud for any potential transfers so far but a deal with the Serie A side in January would be quite sensible.
Besides Chelsea, Giroud has also played for Arsenal before joining Chelsea. He scored 73 goals in 180 games in Premier Leauge, while most of his goals came from substitution.
