London club have reportedly made contact with Real Madrid over a possible sale of Man United transfer target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Gunners will look to cash in on Gabon international this summer as the centre-forward enters the final 12 months of his deal. Red Devils were interested in signing Pierre-Emerick but La Liga giants have reportedly been offered a deal.
Gunners preference would be to keep hold of Aubameyang but they would find it difficult to do so if they do not seal European football next campaign. Arsenal are ninth in the Premier League table so are drawing up contingency plans for the transfer window.
London club have made contact with the Los Blancos to see if they want to sign Aubameyang. The Spanish club are in the market for a new centre-forward as Luka Jovic has failed to provide competition for Karim Benzema.
Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Erling Braut Haaland are said to be French manager’s top three targets. But every one of those footballers would command a heavy fee so the Gabonese striker could be seen as the ideal replacement.
That would come as a blow to Man United, who were said to be considering a summer switch. Arsenal would prefer not to do business with a Premier League rival but they have shown in the past they would be willing to do so.
