Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo (€80.4) has reportedly recognised Chelsea as his favoured option in the Premier League if he leaves Los Blancos at the end of the campaign.
Talks continue to rage over the future of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is believed to be unhappy in the Spanish side due to Madrid’s battled on the field this campaign as well as matters off the pitch.
He was indicted of tax evasion by Spanish officials the last term and reportedly asked to leave the team in the summer, with Manchester United heavily linked with a move to bring the Portuguese back to Old Trafford at that time.
Ronaldo spent six seasons at Old Trafford before joining Madrid and would rejoin with ex Madrid boss and fellow countryman Jose Mourinho if he returned to the club.
But, Spanish outlet Don Balon reports that Chelsea have surprisingly revealed as the 32-year-old’s preferred team.
Ronaldo is believed to be keen on the idea of a transfer back to the Premier League, while the Blues would also be interested in taking the reigning world footballer of the term to Stamford Bridge due to the uncertain nature of Eden Hazard’s future at the club.
The story also claims that The Red Devils have cooled their interest in their ex-footballer, who has netted only four La Liga goals so far this campaign.
