Aksam claims that West Ham United are interested in signing Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir ahead of the winter transfer window.
According to the Turkish newspaper, Both the Premier League club’s sporting director Mario Husillos and goalkeeping trainer Xavi Valero have given the green light to bring in the 23-year-old goalkeeper.
The Trabzonspor academy graduate has been exciting for his side this campaign, and he’s also been linked linked with a move to Liverpool. Last week there were reports the Merseyside Reds sent a scout to watch him in action versus Galatasaray.
Manuel Pellegrini may need to sign a goalkeeper during the next window following Lukasz Fabianski’s injury. Roberto’s plays haven’t been good enough, and subsequently, he was replaced by David Martin last weekend at Stamford Bridge.
Aksam believes West Ham United are in the market for a keeper in January and they are set for a fight with Jurgen Klopp’s side to land the youngster.
It’s expected Trabzonspor will be looking to keep Ugurcan Cakir at least until next summer, but a decent West Ham United offer could change things.
